Who are you?
We are a leadership training company that focuses on the amazing power of productive play that builds a culture and environment of fun to get more done. We help people in organizations lighten up.
Why Did you start your business?
There is a widespread belief that work and play don't mix. If you are working you can't be having fun. If you are having fun you must be goofing off. That believe is wrong. The highest state of the human mind is when you play. Our goal is to help the world lighten up and experience amazing results when work and play collide! I realized that "purposeful play" starts at the top, so I wrote a leadership book called, "The Playful Leader: How to Create a Culture of Fun to Get More Done!"
What makes your business unique?
Through our training and speaking engagements you see productive play at work. Participants learn tactics that enable them to play too. Leaders learn to give "permission" to themselves, their employees and those in the organization to establish a purposeful culture of play. And if you boss has a "stay off my lawn" kind of attitude then you'll learn how to infiltrate play principles behind enemy lines. We deliver training in a fun and engaging way (of course)!
What's the biggest mistake you've made with your business and what did you learn from it??
The biggest mistakes I've made in business are: not starting sooner, being afraid to take risks, not believing enough to start. I've also learned the amazing power of outsourcing via: elance, odesk, fiverr, etc.
what big goal do you have for your company and how do you plan to achieve it?
We are helping the world lighten up by having more fun at work AND getting more done! I hope to accelerate our presence and make the world (business world) a better place.
what advice or tips do you have for people wanting to start their own business or follow their dreams?
Ideas are easy. Execution is hard. Start where you are. Start small. Believe that you can. Celebrate small successes along the way. Enjoy the journey. Dream then act on your impressions and promptings.
