503 Motoring is a Custom Automotive Styling shop that specializes in Exemplary Customer Service. We offer full service automotive tuning and modifying with a keen eye on aesthetics. Utilizing the Highest Quality brands and newest technology we always strive to be the benchmark at which others are measured.

Why Did you start your business?

I have been into cars since I can remember. I used to daydream about being able to drive a golf cart around on the streets (I was a little feller and figured the golf cart was appropriate size). I bought my first car when I was 14 and immediately tore it apart in my fathers garage. That was when I knew that was what I wanted to to do. I wanted to create things. Well fast forward 20 years and I had been in just about every facet of the industry as well as some other odd jobs that provided me the necessary tools to take the leap. I couldn't find anyone around my area that could deliver not only the quality of work I was looking for, but also the customer service and trust I was needing in a shop that had my prized possession in it's hands. So I quit my job, bought a house (because as a Sole Prop I knew it would be years before I would be able to) and started my business all in 45 days. What I soon found was that I loved dealing with people too (let's be honest here, I have always been a motor mouth). My passion for their project would get them fired up and wanting more! The best part though, is when the client comes to pick up the completed project after only being able to imagine your vision and it completely surpasses their wildest dreams. That look, that Breathless moments and then the sincere thank you... Makes all the struggles and long days worth it.

What makes your business unique?

Everything. The team that I have had over the years has always been hand picked. I have a certain way to do things and you have to either already posses those qualities or be able to understand that to work here. I also believe that my years of experience allow me to view things differently than most, offering a more unique and personalized experience. I empower all my team members to treat the customer how they would like to be treated. Treat the vehicles how you would like your treated and above all else, COMMUNICATE. That is the key.

What's the biggest mistake you've made with your business and what did you learn from it??

Not knowing enough about "business". I winged it for years and that allowed us to get by. I believe with enough passion you can do just about anything but if you truly want to grow and develop you have to have that business side. I have learned quickly that best thing to do is let go and trust your carefully selected team to do what they do best so that you can do what you do best. Know how they do it and why, but let them do it. Use your talents and passion to power the business.

what big goal do you have for your company and how do you plan to achieve it?

We are growing, and want to continue to grow so we are going to keep our heads down, continue to innovate, service and create. Passion is an amazing currency.

what advice or tips do you have for people wanting to start their own business or follow their dreams?

DO IT. Don't wait another day. Start putting the plan in motion now. If you are passionate about something find a way to make others passionate about it too. That alone will make you richer than life! One of my favorite quotes is from Bob Proctor and goes: If you do a little research, it is going to become evident that anyone that ever accomplished anything, did not know how they were going to do it. They only knew that they were going to do it....
