About the author

Jason Zook (formerly Jason Headsetsdotcom, Jason SurfrApp & Jason Sadler) is an unconventional entrepreneur. Tired of living a life that felt prescribed to him by society, Jason used his out-of-the-box thinking and ingenuity to create multiple profitable Internet-based businesses.
His most-notable business was IWearYourShirt, a company that generated over $1,000,000 by wearing sponsored t-shirts to promote over 1,600 businesses on social media from 2008-2013 before "influencer" was a mainstream term. If that wasn't weird enough, from 2012 and 2013, Jason auctioned off his last name to the highest bidders and made nearly $100,000 doing it.
Jason's first book was self-published and titled "Creativity For Sale." In it, Jason shared the beginning of his entrepreneurial story and gave practical advice for any creative professional looking to turn their passions into profit. His second book titled "Own Your Weird" picks up where his first book left off and was published by Running Press.
Jason has been featured by The Today Show, CBS Evening News, USA Today, and The New York Times. He lives in San Diego, California with his wife, Caroline, and their Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Plaxico (the dog). They co-own the business Wandering Aimfully which helps creative business owners navigate the murky waters of working for yourself and staying sane in the process.

I am a great admirer of your book. This was by FAR, one of the absolute best purchases I have ever made. I am not joking. As weird as it seems to click away on my keyboard and type such a bold, profound sentence, it was 100% true.
Dear Potential Customer,
There is a reason this book has 62 reviews so far and ALL HAVE BEEN 5 STARS. Jason elicits personal stories of success and failure in a personal way as he details his creative business. This is an inspiring read, certainly ranking in one of the top 5 best books I have ever read. And as a college senior, with an Emphasis in Rhetoric, I can reassure you I have read my fair share of books.
Here is the breakdown:
1.I FEEL liberated and INSPIRED right now...I just finished the last page 10 minutes ago and haven't been able to put this bad boy down since I unwrapped it a couple days ago.
2. I have 30+ bullet points of practical information in the back of this book with awesome insight from Jason.
3. Jason is a marketing genius...BECAUSE I also have 27 page numbers listed on the inside of the book in reference for me to check very soon. For those who may not be aware, Jason received a sponsor for every page and 75K in the process. That means I will be visiting 27 businesses I found awesome because Jason had the genius to fund raise via marketing.
IN SUM: , I have the 1. inspiration and 2.knowledge to put my small business dream to use...
& 3. I have some businesses to look into further in my spare time.
I have a much clearer idea of what I want to do and how to go about it. I can't wait to get going!
Oh, the sponsors on each page of the book...I didn't mind them because they aren't over-bearing. I'll probably end up checking out a bunch of them. Pretty clever idea, if I don't say so myself.
With all of that said, you can tell Jason poured out his soul into this book. I could tell you how much I like the book (except for some parts that were elementary but I understood his logic) and on the whole, it was one of those page turners that you have trouble putting down. I finished the book within about a 10 hour span and it is normally hard to keep my that interested. They say put your money where you mouth is so I liked the book enough to just order 16 copies from Amazon for people at my business and business associates. I think that goes much farther than being verbose.
If you start running into sections (especially all of Chapter 12) that seem elementary, skip to the next section and it will speed your reading of the book and your enjoyment but don't skip the little ads at the bottom. Some are funny, some are creative, and many gave me some helpful resources. Nothing is plain about Jason and we can only guess what his next last name will be.
Clark Stevenson
