Who are you?

Boxed Water Is Better: Part sustainable water company, part art project, part philanthropic project, and completely curious.

Why Did you start your business?

We launched in 2009 as bottled water was coming under some of its harshest criticism as being wasteful, unneeded, and bad for the environment. Yet, it continued to be purchased nationally and grow as a market. We thought it was the job of creatives and entrepreneurs to rethink the packaging and take a step in a new direction.

What makes your business unique?

We took a very avant-garde approach to our launch and the design of our packaging. The stark black and white approach not only stood out on the shelves but also stands very much for what we are: new, different, simple, efficient.

What's the biggest mistake you've made with your business and what did you learn from it??

We knew very little about the beverage industry and how it works in regards to distribution. Took us some time to find the right team to help it grow. A combination of traditional beverage sales people and marketing minds.

what big goal do you have for your company and how do you plan to achieve it?

To be internationally available. In the beverage industry this is achieved by steady, determined growth in major markets while maintaining a sharp and focused brand.

what advice or tips do you have for people wanting to start their own business or follow their dreams?

Do it! It's not easy, its not glamorous. But its extremely rewarding. Start small, test your idea, get real market validation via sales - not the feedback of friends and family. Make sure its something you truly love.
